Advantages Of Solid State Drives

Fast reading and writing speed: flash memory is used as the storage medium, and the reading speed is faster than mechanical hard disk. SSD does not use a magnetic head, and the seek time is almost zero. The speed of continuous writing is very amazing. Most SSD manufacturers claim that the continuous reading and writing speed of their own SSD exceeds 500MB / s. In recent years, nvme SSD can reach about 2000mb / s, or even more than 4000mb / s. The speed of solid-state drives is not only reflected in continuous reading and writing, but also in random reading and writing. This is the ultimate meaning of solid-state drives, which is most directly reflected in most daily operations. Related to this is the extremely low access time. The seek time of the most common 7200 RPM mechanical hard disk is generally 12-14 milliseconds, while the solid-state disk can easily reach 0.1 milliseconds or even lower.

Shockproof and fall resistant: traditional hard disks are disk type, and data is stored in disk sectors. The SSD is made of flash memory particles (i.e., MP3, U-disk and other storage media), so there are no mechanical components inside the SSD, which will not affect normal use even when moving at high speed or even accompanied by tilting, and minimize the possibility of data loss in the event of collision and vibration. Compared with traditional hard disk, solid-state disk has an absolute advantage.

Low power consumption: the power consumption of SSD is lower than that of traditional HDD.

No noise: the SSD has no mechanical motor and fan, and the noise value is 0 dB when it works. Flash based solid-state drives consume less energy and generate less heat under working conditions (but high-end or large capacity products consume more energy). There are no mechanical moving parts inside, there will be no mechanical failure, and there is no fear of collision, impact and vibration. As the solid-state disk uses the flash memory chip without mechanical parts, it has the characteristics of small heat generation and fast heat dissipation.

Wide operating temperature range: a typical hard disk drive can only work in the range of 5 to 55 degrees Celsius. Most SSDs can work at - 10 ~ 70 ℃. Solid state hard disk is smaller and lighter than mechanical hard disk with the same capacity. The interface specifications, definitions, functions and use methods of solid-state drives are the same as those of ordinary hard disks, and the product appearance and size are also the same as those of ordinary hard disks. The operating temperature range of the chip is very wide (- 40 ~ 85 ℃).

Lightweight: solid state drives are lighter in weight, 20-30g lighter than conventional 1.8-inch hard drives.
